Size 3 adults shoes versus children's size 3?

I've found some boots I like for the winter on the next website. They are a girls/teenage size 3. I usually buy an adult size 3 and I'm wondering what the difference is between a children's 3 and an adult 3. Is there a difference?
I don't really know what size I need to order, whether i need a 3 or if I should go for a 4 as there kids. I don't want to end up with possibly two pairs of long boots to have to lug to the post office to send back if they don't fit.
Would be very grateful if anyone knows if there is a difference between the adult and kids sizing and if so which direction it is, bigger or smaller.
Thanks

My mum wears a 3 or 4 and sometimes gets them in the childrens sections. She sometimes finds they can be slightly narrower but not usually smaller. I don't know if this applies to Next though.'Still dealing with my debt, but I'll get there. Keep smiling.'0

I would expect them to be narrower.Ellie

I'm a size 3 and can often get into 'junior' trainers which has saved me a fortune when I've wanted a *decent* pair of trainers. I've also had kids shoees & boots, which again have been considerably cheaper, and fortunately the styles haven't been childish (IYKWIM) .
The best thing you can do is just go and see what's available and try them on - you'll soon know if they are narrower and the like. It's the only way you'll know for sure.0 -
Cant say about shoes but Trainers are exactly the same from what Ive seen
Im size 5 which is the very top end of most Kids shoe ranges - saved me a pretty penny in the past as well0 -
With boots, even if the shoe size fits, the calf bit in children's boots can be too tight to zip up! Either that or I am built like an elephant! There is a code for free delivery on here somewhere, so worth ordering in a couple of different sizes just to check them out.0
