Warning-Tesco Clubcard e-vouchers

Apologies if everyone already knows this.
I found out this evening that I can't use my carefully hoarded Clubcard e-vouchers of anything other than shopping on line.
The ordinary vouchers can be used for Clubcard deals but not the e-vouchers.
This makes the e-vouchers worth a lot less as most of the deals make the voucher worth 4x the face value. This doesn't apply to groceries.
I'm about to change back to ordinary vouchers.
The Clubcard help desk told me that I would have been told this when I signed up for the e-vouchers. I had obviously forgotten.
A warning for the unwary!

have you been looking on ebay the clubcard vouchers are going for mega money, i'm tempted to put my next lot up for auction
  • yeah, noticed that.

just search for tesco clubcard in ebay. They sell for at least twice the face value.More often than not more.
  • surely these clubcard codes can only be used once. How would you know that the vouchers hadn't already been used before purchasing them? Abit risky if you ask me!

if you look at the auctions they are for paper clubcard vouchers not the E-vouchers.. so they have to be redeemed in stores or exchanged for clubcard deals.

if they are used in deals they are worth 4 x more (1 £10 voucher =£40 in clubcard deals)

i was going to buy some clubcard vouchers recently, so i emailed clubcard to see if i can exchange them for deals (i said a relative wanted to give me some of hers to make mine up to the amount required for the deal we wanted). they said no - the vouchers have a name and clubcard number on the front so if you send off somebody elses they won't give you the deals vouchers. i notice some sellers on ebay are saying they will exchange the vouchers into deals for you, but not all.

I exchange my Tesco vouchers for Yates pub vouchers. £5 of Tesco vouchers gets me £20 to spend in Yates. For a little under £14 both my friend and I can have a nice meal and a bottle of wine (certain meals are 2 for £6.99 during the day and wine is £6.99 a bottle).

So am I, this will be our first full quater since our new Tesco opened in December. The odd thing is that the reckoning day was supposed to be May 15th so I was frantically using up all my extra points vouchers in the previous week. Then my recipts said points had been calculated up until May 1st. So possibly I think I have about 4000 points this quater.

They are due in the next week. At least it will stop me obsessing about Boots for a day or two. LOL
