endowment mis selling, result but how should the re-dress be calculated

Hi slightly virginal at this, but to cut a long story short, have had claim for mis-selling s&a endowment by Big H back in 1984/1986 upheld!
Result! yes, but now I have a decision to make as to how the re-dress is worked out.
Do I choose to go along the generic rate route, or do I choose the Big H's rates?
Is there anyone who can help?
And I thought I might be offered the most beneficial to my self, but I have to make the choice and frankly I have no idea http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/newthread.html?do=newthread&f=15#
