Hi everyone,
My girlfriend and I are about to get our first mortgage and are looking around for quotes at the moment. One of the best we have found is Britannia 5yr Fixed Rate at 5.64%. We mentioned this to an IFA we saw, and he said it’s best not to go with them because they are an “adverse” company and we may have credit issues in the future.
Would there be a problem with going with Britannia? Anyone else here have there mortgage with them and have any advice?
Also if we were to go with them for our mortgage, would the best way to do it to apply through their website, or try a cashback site like moneyback mortgages?
Thanks in advance for your help :T

Adverse?? Hardly - Britannia are about as squeaky clean as you can get. They do own an adverse lender, Platform, but in no way would having a Britannia mortgage count against you - it's probably just because they don't pay advisers that he's recommending you look elsewhere!!
As to the second part of your post, I've had no experience of moneyback mortgages, so can't really comment.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Moneyback mortgages will not process applications to Britannia.
99.9999% of Fee Free Whole of Market mortgage brokers will not process applications to Britannia.
The only places you will get a Britannia mortgage is by using a fee based broker or going to Britannia directly0 -
