So .. (devil's advocate mode ...) how do you ever hear any new music?
Are you maybe 'stuck in the past' listening to 'old music'
Where we are with a 2MB home internet and an intermittent mobile signal, could your system cope with that?
Since when do you need new music eh? Should all just listen to U2, Nickelback and Coldplay all day.
Thank !!!! I don't live in a world where that's true.0 -

So, you don't know how Deezer, Spotify or Google play music work?
I probably hear more new music than is ever played on radio. I think you'll find that radio listeners are fed more old music than I am.;) However, my taste is eclectic and I don't find it an insult liking any music, even 'old music'.
For the rare times out of signal the playlists on the phone are changed often enough not to get boring.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Another reason I like DAB so far. No electrical interference like you sometimes get on MW in car.0

DAB will be around for years but will become the MW of the future. Lots of stations but limited sound quality due to bandwidth splitting.0 -

Try finding a DAB home radio with stereo speakers. It's nearly impossible. It's like going back to the 70s having to listen in mono all the timepoppy100

I can see the UK following France and withdrawing DAB with it's bandwidth hungry MP3 codecs and moving to DAB+ with the much more efficient ACC codecs instead.
A 128 bit stereo stream using ACC takes the same bandwidth as a mono MP3 stream at 48 bits does.
As yet, there are no plans to introduce DAB+ in the UK, but with enough pressure things might change.Never Knowingly Understood.

I think part of the problem is that we adopted DAB early for commercial reasons, whilst France waited until DAB+ for announced.
It's much harder (unfortunately) to drop the old standard and move over to the new one than simply start at the new one.
Especially in consumer devices where you will then need to phase out the old standard equipment at a rate that doesn't upset the owners (IE run both standards side by side for a while before phasing out the older one in a timeframe that corresponds to average failure/replacement of the old hardware).0
