    Going slightly off topic, I prefer a mixture. A low risk base in case of disaster and a higher risk part on top of that. Assigning a single level of risk tolerance to me bever seems to fit.

    But historically according to the Vanguard asset mixer the best returns come from taking a moderately high risk due to the benefits of rebalancing between asset classes.
