Credit Card Spend for Work Trips

Hi everyone!

I am currently in the conveyancing process (god it feels like forever) and have been accepted for a mortgage. The actual application was really quick and only took 2 weeks from application to offer. However, the conveyancing seems to be a taking forever due to the vendors solicitors (don't get me started ).

I do a lot of international travel for work (60+%) and have to use my own credit card to pay for hotels, food, travel etc. I am then reimbursed by my company and payment is made twice a month. When my mortgage offer was given, my credit card was relatively low for me (about £900). I have a lot of travel organised for the next few weeks and anticipate I will be putting more money on. I clear my balance in full at the end of every month and occasionally pay ad hoc amounts if I am nearing my limit (which is annoyingly low given the amount I need it). My question is this: will my mortgage provider check me again and could my offer be rescinded due to the spend on my account? I am getting absolutely panicked but I need my card for work. Of the spend currently on it, only £43 relates to personal expenses. Is there anyway I can let the mortgage provider I know? I went through L&C and explained the situation to them but I am just worried my debt ratio will look bad!

  • I do the same, when they do a search it will show its paid in full each month but you should of told the mortgage company about this when you did the bit on your mortgage ap about credit accounts etc.
