They say I owe money but I don't

Ebay have been pestering me for 3 months now demanding that I pay them £1500 in over due fees otherwise they will send the debt collectors around. I have tried to resolve this debt with them several times, and I even offered to pay it all off if they allowed me to sort out some kind of monthly plan(even though I technically don't owe them anything).
I have a list off well over 30 transactions that the buyer never paid or was refunded, yet ebay still charged me fees for them.
The reason why I refuse to aknowldge this debt is because the fees for those 50+ transactions add up to nearly £2000 so if anything ebay owes me money.
I have tried to resolve this with them several times since I'm afraid they will send over the debt collectors, at one point I even offered to pay them. I really don't know what I should do now. Any advice would be great, I have just resent them a email with all the transaction ids for the sales that they have charged me for, other than that I don't know what I can do.
Honestly, if I was in the position to do so, and had a spare 1.5k I would of just paid them off just out of fear. What would you do?

I sell on eBay and when someone does not pay i open a case in the Resolution Centre. eBay then asks the seller to pay, and if they dont eBay gives the buyer a strike, and refund your eBay fees. This all should happen within 5 days.

Hi there and welcome to MSE,
First of all, debt collectors are not bailiffs. If Ebay wishes to pass this debt on to a third party then that company would have no right of entry, or repossession and are very unlikely to visit - so try not to worry about debt collectors.
You can either dispute this debt, or make a payment plan. At the moment, it seems your are giving mixed messages to them as you say you do not acknowledge the debt and do not owe them any money, but have made an offer to pay - these two things are contradictory. If you want to try and dispute, then the first thing I would suggest is that you read the fine print of the terms and conditions of selling on Ebay. Outline to Ebay why you don't feel you owe the money, and how you want this matter resolved. You can also ask for details of who you can escalate the complaint to if it cannot be resolved between you and Ebay (most likely the financial ombudsman service).
If you decide not to dispute and make a payment plan instead, then you can do a SOA, post it on here for more help and support and then make an offer to repay. If you want to continue using the Ebay site you may have to prioritise this debt as they may suspend your account until it is paid. You also need to be aware that they do not have to accept instalments and debts like this could escalate to the county court. There is still no need to panic as this is mainly done in the post and if you get any court papers you can get advice on how to complete the forms from any of the free debt charities. Good luck,
Laura
