Not sure anyone will be able to help here but I have just pulled the plug on a mortgage deal we were going through. We were going through a company called mortgage bug who were going with mortgages plc, we were classed as near prime and it was a remortgage.
The last sticking point of two months of going back and forward was my identity, I don't drive or have a passport. The inland revenue do not give out coding notices anymore, I do not have a work badge what I did have was a marriage licence, divorce papers from a court, P60's, birth certificate, child benefit notice that is annual and dated around March, child tax credit award notices and various utilty suppliers.
So how can I get a mortgage the bloke at mortgage bug was not happy when I requested my £500 fee back and said no one would give me a mortgage how can I get any further, we are not self certing our wages are fine, the house value is fine. DOes anyone know where I can turn I am really upset about this.

P60 may be OK for ID although I haven't come across this for about 3 years, and why are you "nearly prime"?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser code of conduct. We are in a self managed DMP, currently our mortgage is with Future out of its penalty period and with 22 years to run we also have a secured loan with First Plus we were wanting to combine the two take 4k for some new windows and have it over a period of 20 years now I feel a bit like a leper!
Gutted it has taken two months and to be told no one will touch me, teh solicitor was happy with the ID but nothign we can do if mortgage companies arent!

You think we could find someone then we have never been late paying the mortgage or secured loan but I understand in the current financial market the timing is terrible, it literally was the ID I had they didn't like and the broker said all companies will want better!0

what is the loan to value?
Do you haev any correspondence relating to state benefits or such like? Some lenders may allow that. Otherwise you'll need to apply for a driving licenceI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser code of conduct. ID is not a lender thing! ID is money laundering law!
I would get a new broker. get a whole of market broker as they will have the pick of the bunch. You can use more than one item to prove ID if you dont have one of the major items. He just needs to talk to a lender and find out the min requirements. Good luck0 -
They were supposed to be whole of market but I think he had gone so far down the track with the one company he could not be bothered going anywhere else. I appreciate the money laws but he had everything I owned and like I said previously the solicitor was satisfied it was enough but the underwriter wanted more.0

We used the Child Tax Credit advice letter for one client - the lender was more than happy with thatI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
