Remortgaged

This is my first post in a LONG time, so may as well say a hello again.
Would just to say a big thanks to this site and in particular for recommending London & Country as a mortgage broker. I used them just over 2 years ago to get our first ever mortgage which was finally granted using Bank of Ireland / Post Office. 93% mortgage under Help To Buy, fixed for 5 years at 4.99%. a bit pricy but it got us our first house which we bought for £247k.
Now roll on 2 years and much work on the house, we decided to see what our house was worth, so got a new valuation. Bloody hell, it's only gone up to £315K , £68K profit so far, so we thought we'd look into seeing if it was worth remortgaging what with having 5% early payment fees on our current mortgage. We decided to go back with L&C as we had such a good experience with them (No i don't work for them
) to see if it was possible and worth it. Well, as it happens, yes it is worth it. Just been approved by Halifax, fixed for 3 years at a rate of 1.76% and with better rates for early repayment. This has saved us nearly £300 per month, plus a saving of approx £13k in interest over the fixed period. It was still a bit scary going through the process as rejection is not a pleasant experience, but it was so straight forward it was scary in another way as it was moving forward very quickly. Just a few signatures for my family left to do, send off the paperwork, and hopefully it should all be completed by the end of the month. That'll be a month from first phonecall to completion.
To say i'm chuffed is a bit of an understatement, so to those of you who are thinking about it but are frightened of rejection, just give it a go, and i recommend L&C to help you along.
