Mortgage and gambling

Hi I've had a gambling problem of late,
I would like to apply for a mortgage soon but I just wanted to know how far back to they look when assessing my mortgage application the amount was roughly £20-£25k for gambling.
What should I do?

If bank statements are requested then typically it is around three months, however sometimes it can be a longer period if they feel it is necessary to request. In terms of the gambling, that is something you should really get a grip off to be honest. Is your deposit related to it in any way? As this may cause some issues.0

Did you pay it all back? Do you have any defaults or CCJs? When assessing you for a mortgage the bank will check your credit file which goes back 6 years. They will ask for 3 months bank statements to check your outgoings and ensure affordability.0
