Cheapest way to pay

I have also put this in the insurance forum but as I want to stop myself getting into further debt want to know the cheapest way to go about doing the below.
My buildings and contents insurance is up for renewal and I have been quoted a price of £241.99. My insurance company have told me that they will charge £1.00 per month for paying by direct debit. I don't know if any of you out there can work out how much that would equate to percentage wise as I don't know if it would work out cheaper to put it on the credit card. Any one have any ideas?

It would be 5%.... Have you shopped around? I usuually use Confused.com to find the cheapest price, then go through Quidco for the cashback.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi,
Just a thought but before you renew your insurance have you looked on quidco to see if you can get cashback and a better renewal figure. I know Natwest are offering £120 (I think) cashback this month.
I have paid mine in full this month rather than DD but you need to work out if you do put it on your CC, whether you can pay it off before it starts accruing interest.0 -
I have just this minute done quotes with natwest as it happens, it came to $158, no extra for paying monthly and $120 cashback with quidco:j :j
Way to go!!You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -
Unfortunately, as we have made two claims this year (like buses nothing for the last 6 years then two come along at once) I am finding it very hard to find anything that comes up any cheaper than my current provider. In fact going through confused nobody will even touch us for contents because of the claims.
We went with Barclays last year because they were the cheapest and got it through Quidco as I could have gotten £95.00 cashback, but unfortunately I must have done something wrong as I am still waiting for Quidco to chase my money so I don't think I'll see that.
Floss, I take it that would be 5% for the year. Oh well, my credit card is 9.9% so think I might have to do dd after all.Did owe £9,951.96
