Mortgage/IVA

Has anybody had any experience in getting a mortgage after being in an IVA?

My IVA was 8 years ago so has long dropped off my credit report, however my mortgage broker is pushing Halifax as a lender who were one of my creditors on my IVA (credit card debt)! Will they still hold records of me?

    They may do.
You should be fine, we have one going through at the minute where the lady has been discharged for 3 years. They have been accepted subject to valuation now.

  • Any ideas if I can find out if they still have a doctors of me? Or should I tell my broker to avoid them?

If your broker knows about the IVA, my first question to the account manager would be do you hold a grudge if the client owed you money.

Presumably your broker has done that, the last thing they would want to do would be to make an application and it get declined - that is just a waste of everyones time.
