P45 and online HMRC question: URGENT

Basically is is my P45 the ONLY statement of earnings my new employer can get. I'm worried that through this online portal, my new employer can see my total earnings for this year (fine) and what my old employer had registered as my annual salary (the latter not being on my p45).
What information on me is available on the portal?
Out my mind with panic. If somebody could just answer this I'd really be appreciative. The internet doesn't have an answer anywhere else.
