PPI Reclaiming - need some help and advice

Hi there,
I'm new to all this so please bear with me, just seen Martin's excellent video on reclaiming back PPI and got very excited. Now I've being paying this insurance for over three years now on a five year loan. I knew when I took out the loan I didn't need the PPI, but the loan was an extension on top of another loan and I had always had the PPI in the past.
This was because many years ago they wouldn't give me a loan without it. But with this new extension they didn't say I couldn't have the loan without the PPi, because I'd got wise to them and a little bit cocky. But they did try the real hard sell - and that was to tell me what would happen if "God forbid it if I died tomorrow could my parents carry on paying the loan"
Now me being a little naive I thought my parents would have to pay my depts if I died. And to be honest I'm still not that sure about that grey area so I took the insurance.
Now can someone please tell me if I have a case or not. And do I have to go the bank and get copies of my loan agreement and other documents because I no longer have them?
