Hi there
I agree about the yankee candles.... i love them and they are one of the few that smell as nice once lit... i got the large jar last year with a mistletoe scented candle... started using it at the beginning of december... and it hasn't all gone yet.. i don't use it all the time obviously but do use it loads... they also do room sprays too and they are stunning-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
As a variation, how about a candle making kit (or would that limit future presents too much?!) Craft outlets often sell them, and then she could choose her own scents, or you could provide a couple of essential oils.0

Not sure if you are aware but lots of stuff at Wilkinsons is now available on line and as with Woolies you can avoid the delivery charge by collecting at store

Is that the longest link ever???
This service has not been going long so lots of stuff oos but I'm sure that they'll get their act together soon. There was a discount code about for 15% off but not sure if it's still valid.0 -

seen some scented candles in peacocks today quite reasonably priced and smelt delicious
priced from £2. thought of this thread when i saw them
hthYou could add a couple of glass tealight holders to the hamper - I've seen some cheap ones in Asda recently - or maybe a small bag of those coloured glass nuggets to put in the bottom of a candle bowl.
You could also include a fragranced oil burner and some oils - or one of those ceramic light bulb rings?
but she doesnt seem to be a big fan of tealights, too much hassle for her me thinks, ikea have lovley tea light holdersYes Your Dukeiness0 -
If she is a connoiseur, she will love Yankee Candles. Does she like them because of fragrance or light? Reason I ask is that the Yankee tarts are a great way to get fragrance but you can't see the flame. A good mixed gift would be tart burner and some different tarts, perhaps some tealights, and a bigger jar or whatever.
If you don't like Yankee ones, beware of cheaper candles.
1. they are often only fragrances on the outside, so you get smell for about 5 minutes then it's gone.
2. cheaper candles 'tunnel' so you don't get as long a burning time. Yankee seem more expensive but they are worth every penny.
If you want to get a scented pillar candle from somewhere, you can either pack it with a decorated or mirrored plate, or make a hurricane lantern - I got a cheap vase from Ikea, pebbles or decorative gravel/sand in the bottom and pillar candle in. voila - great as a centrepiece for the table, or can even be used outside in summer for BBQs etc as won't blow out.
If you can't picture what I mean, PM me and I'll try to send a photo.

have notice the tunneling (assuming its what im thinking that the middle burns through and leaves excess wax at the edges? mum fully utalises all wax that doesnt burn :T
i have been keeping a look out for the scented pillar candles but they seem to be coloured and not scented! hmph! the idea does sound good though can visualiuse think its the same as what someone else said about a decorated vase in a previous post
apparently the yankee candles have arrived at my bfs just have to pick them up, got a nice thatched basket too from a pound shop need to check how big the candles are though to see if they'll fit and whatelse i can fit, only a pound so dont mind buying a bigger one,Yes Your Dukeiness0 -
