Disabled Railcard discounts using Oyster

Hi,
Hope you're well.
I have a question regarding the Disabled railcard and how to best use it.
I commute from Romford into Liverpool Street every weekday with my partner and usually tapped my bank card. We also travel on train to Leeds from KX every 3/4 weeks.
I wanted to know if anybody can recommend how to use the card, i.e. buy an oyster and apply the railcard discount? or buy weekly/monthly tickets.
Does travelling on the underground using the card mean my partner gets discount too?
Thanks!
Mav

Have you read this?

Particularly the "Discounts on Oyster pay as you go in London" section.0 -
Could you tell us what time you travel when you're commuting?0

Get an Oyster from a machine on an underground station and ask a staff member to add the disabled card to it. Your partner will not get a pay as you go discount but can buy day travelcards at a discount.0
