Unjustified Credit rating
I am having serious trouble getting a company to repair my credit rating. They claimed that I had missed two payments on a loan when in fact the loan had been paid in full. They are now refusing to write back to me and my credit rating still shows two missed payments.
Can I do anything to put pressure on this company (First National) to resolve this issue. I can't get credit anywhere.

Just two missed payments would not necessarily stop you getting credit.
The thing to do is to ask them for the dates of the 2 missed payments and then provide a bank statement to prove the payments were made on time.

Write to them and demand they correct their mistake, mention that you will complain to the financial ombudsman if they fail to act properly. Take a look at the Ombudsman's complaint guide. If the Ombudsman has to investigate and rules in your favour, they have to pay £400 for the investigation and any costs or damages which he feels he wants to award. Your not the only one with problems with this Creditor.
