State oension application form

im helping my mum fill out the state pension application form. It seems to ask for a copy of her wedding certificate. Im sure she has this but it could take a while to find it and she wouldnt be keen on sending the original. If she doesnt submit it with the pension form will this mean that her application is refused. She is stating that she is bereaved (which is true)

  • Why not get a duplicate wedding certificate to send?

Is your mum entitled to a larger pension based on your dad's contribution's?

I dont know the first thing about claiming state pension but I would be making it as easy as possible for the person who deals with the claim. why put hurdles in their way?
  • we will look for it but i was asking what happens if the wedding certificate isnt submitted. I assume they dont refuse the application as she should get something even if she cant prove she is married . This is what i was asking . Its just i want to submit the application soon and cant wait until she finds the certificate.
  • or until a replacement is sent

You could always use the telephone claim service?

The teleclaims staff would know whether DWP had already seen hey wedding certificate and shouldn't need to see it again.

If she is widowed has she not received bereavement benefits and the would has provided her marriage and his death certificate?
