Actually thanks for bringing this up again, it did go pretty much back to normal, I think because it was long and thin, damping it a bit and suspending it was very helpful as the weight of the material pulled the wrinkles out of it. And I tried it in a bout of very good weather so the sun might have helped in that process too.
Now if I have any friends with children staying when I’m away I roll the rug up and put it in the cupboard so I have also learned that much.1
