Warranty card - I don't legally need it, do I?

My camera, under warranty, has developed a problem. The Olympus website says I need my receipt and warranty card to get it sorted out. I don't think I do.
I've got my receipt but have no idea where the warranty card is. I think that my proof of purchase is all I need, legally, in the case of faulty goods. But I'd like a second opinion before I go and argue the point!

You just need proof of purchase. Your contract is actually with the retailer as opposed to the manufacturer, so you could go to them to repair it if Olympus are no help (unless of course they are the retailer also!) xGone ... or have I?0

Many thanks for reinforcing what I though. I actually bought from the Boots website but as they aren't an official 'service centre' for Olympus thought I'd go straight to the manufacturer on this occasion. Boots will be the 'Plan B' approach!0

Well I do think that you need the warranty card if you want it repaired under the warranty. Olympus are entitled to make that condition - though I would expect they would waive it in reality.
If you are claiming under the Sale of Goods Act then you only need the receipt - but would have to go to Boots to arrange things for you as you bought it from them.0
