Working time directive for part time work

I did think the same thing but the gap in between Friday evening and Saturday I wasn't sure if that was allowed. Thanks for clearing it up for me.0

There is provision in the regs to look at a reference period, 17 weeks, or as agreed with unions.
This is unlikely to be due to part time status.
Assumes she is over 18 and not in an excluded sector.
That only applies to the 48hr limit not to breaks.
There are provisions in the regs for compensatory breaks in some sectors.
Those shift would break WTR if not an excluded sector.0 -
Regulation 10 of the Working Time Regulations 1998 states as follows:
Daily rest
10.—(1) An adult worker is entitled to a rest period of not less than eleven consecutive hours in each 24-hour period during which he works for his employer.0 -

So that's OK then, in the 24 hours starting at 17:00 on Friday she works for 12 hours, and therefore has 12 hours rest.0
