I recently ordered a Hostess Trolley from the website Popcorn-UK.com. Priced at £76.41 it was over £100 cheaper than anywhere else, even after an additional £25 for delivery.
I placed my order online on Saturday evening (6th October) and received an email the same night entitled 'Your order from Popcorn-UK has been processed successfully'. This email stated that no money had been debited from my credit card, and this would only be done once the order was fulfilled. It then went on to state: "You bought: Goods bought from Popcorn UK Ltd..." along with a full description of the product, price, delivery address etc.
A second email appeared a few minutes later from their customer services address which said "Thank you for your order. Your personal representative will be in touch shortly to confirm delivery details."
As the Popcorn-UK website says that all products are normally delivered withing 1-3 working days via either Home Delivery Network or Royal Mail, I expected my trolley to arrive by the end of this week.
HOWEVER, today I received another email from their customer services address stating that their suppliers have informed them that they are unable to deliver to my postal address from the warehouse that stocks the item. Because of this, they have cancelled my order.
I obviously really want this item as its by far the cheapest I can find from anywhere else (including 2nd hand ones on e-bay). Can I make this company sell (and deliver) this item to me?? I have checked their website and although their T&C state that a contract is not formed until payment has been taken, at no stage of ordering (or registering) was I directed to their T&C page....
My gut feeling is that they are trying to avoid fulfilling this order because they have realised that the price is incorrect (although it is still on their website today). What can I do to get my Hostess Trolley from them?!?!?!!!
Any advice would be gratefully received.....

As I understand it they have to debit your account before you can really have a case.0

Have you tried contacting them and asking why they can't deliver, I know gun crime is a bit worrying in Nottingham, but I am pretty sure Royal Mail still deliver there (well apart from when they are on strike). Perhaps you could arrange to collect this item from the warehouse.hazelnotts wrote: »I recently ordered a Hostess Trolley from the website Popcorn-UK.com. Hi Clive
I've tried to contact them by 'phone, but it goes straight to an answering machine. I dropped them an email asking whereabouts they can deliver to or whether it would be possible to arrange delivery via another method (or collection). Surprisingly (or not) I haven't received a response. I half expected the price of the trolley to change on their website, but it's still the same as of tonight....0 -
Have you tried ordering again then?0

I got my mum to try and order it, as she's lives in a different area.... She got the same emails confirming her order.....and then one from Customer Services saying the order had been cancelled because they were out of stock!
The latest news is that they have now responded to my original query about which postcodes they DO delivery this item to. Their answer was that after speaking to their suppliers again, they have agreed to deliver to my postcode. I have been asked to re-submit my order. "Hurrah!" I thought. Until I went onto their website and found that the model I ordered (and the only one that was at that fantastic price) is no longer there...
Ever hopefully, I have emailed them back the original order confirmations they sent, explaining my inabilty to re-submit on the website and asking if they can place my order using the details from their original confirmations. I have a sneaky feeling that they won't be able to do this and that by the time it comes back onto their website the price will have mysteriously changed.....
I'll keep you updated!0 -
