Minute taking tests

Hi, I have an interview for band 5 PA role in nhs, there is assessment before the interview, minute taking & computer test. Email states testing will last an hr!!
Is anyone else been assessed on minute taking skills before an interview? Was it hard. My computer skills are pretty good so that should be fine, I just dont have much experience in minute taking so just a bit worried about that. Thanks

I've both devised and taken tests for minute writing.

When I've been tested at an interview, I think it may have been writing minutes from a written verbatim transcript.

When I've been tested for an exam, it was from a cine-film (even before the days of video) of a simple meeting and then typing up (in those days on a typewriter).

When I was recruiting committee secretaries, I've dictated at a steady speed and then asked for a precis. If I were doing it now, I would try to find an online video of a straightforward business meeting.

Do they give any guidance about what sort of minutes they want? The style can vary from the detailed 'mr x stated that blah blah but mr y insisted that rhubarb rhubarb' to the terse 'after some discussion ...'

They gave v little information about the tests. Only stating "there will be a minute taking & computer test, duration 1 hour" I wish there was further imformation given.

I've had to this this recently when applying for an admin job supporting Senior Managers/Assistant Directors for a Local Authority. It comprised of playing a video of a team meeting and you had to write up the minutes.

I didn't get any instructions of how they would like the minutes set out, or given a template, just had to type them up on a word document how I thought they should be set out. I set them out as a summary of the discussion under topic headings and any related action points.

That is what I would expect minutes to be, not details of the discussion leading up to any action points.
