Hi Financialfreedom,
I'm at the beginning of a 5 year plan too, although you're aiming to OP 10 times what I can :rotfl:
Ah well, it's all relative!
I'll be following your progress,

Hi dragonrider! I just caught up on your post. Exciting times! My first OP happens this month
I am building up cash reserves mainly, but wanted to start small inroads into repayments of £300 per month and will slowly increase over the next year each quarter.
Good luck with yours!0 -
These Five years are going to fly by! We are so on it!!!0

Hi everyone! I am in need of tips for saving apps and cashback schemes you all seem to use. Betterthanever, what is Shopium?
Alas, I have had set backs this week on the coffee front. No milk at home, so bought out twice, and down £3.50. It's not all bad though, as I have kept to my lunch budget and not bought anything else all week (except more milk!).
Hair cut this month will be my biggest outgoing, and a night out with friends. With lunches, food etc. I am set to underspend this month by £150, which I will set aside for Christmas.0 -
With shopmium you download the app from your app store and it gives you some items you can buy and get refunded in full from certain stores and others that are money off. You just upload a pic of your receipt and they pay the money into your account within 48 hours. Superb!!
If you refer friends you can get £4 per referral once they start. My referral code is ha2d6 if you want to use it....and then you get to refer others and get the extra yourself too!!0 -
And if you want me to refer you to swagbucks, send me a PM with your email address and I shall do so....I've withdrawn £10 in my first week to PayPal quite easily.0

Also, if you shop at Waitrose or Sainsbury's download green jinn for money off coupons. It all helps spread the shopping budget a bit further!0

Thanks Betterthanever. I don't have a Paypal as mine was hacked.
Spending has been down overall. Nearly two weeks in and only £150 on shop, fuel and lunches, still on track to underspend and already have savings building up by spending only partners wage, and up on that too, so doing well overall!0 -
Reading for tips although I'm on a 9 year plan Just downloaded Shopmium with your referral thanks :money:
Ps as now joined Shopmium you can use my referral code 2t74j0 -
Having a disastrous couple of weeks on spending: Had to replace the iPad, lost my travel mug, went out with friends and got a tax bill. All in all, quite an expensive couple of weeks. Not only that, but I have to pay planning fees for our house (loft conversion), so savings are somewhat depleted, but I suppose that's why I am saving, to be able to cover the big things. However, I have been frugal and underpants on the day to day costs. So I'm going to take the positive from this and continue to be frugal where I can.0
