Please help

Hi, I am new to this and am a bit desperate so am hoping for help. I don't have anyone to blame for my debt but myself and I take full reponsibility for it. I am a 26 year old classroom assistant, I moved back in with my parents last year after renting for 2 years and running up large credit card debts and then loans too. I now owe about £17K. Last year I went to the CCCS for help who have been great. The problem is that my debt is not going down because my creditors will not stop or even reduce the interest.
I have written to them all 3 times and so have the CCCS but they're not bidging. I have always made my payments on time and right now I am so low and at the end of my tether I just don't feel like theres any point in my life anymore.
I work full time at school, go to college 2 nights a week and have 2 other part time jobs. I never go out with friends because I have no spare money and I am so ashamed of myself. I have been a little bit chuffed with myself for taking responsibility of my debt and sorting it with the help of the CCCS but now I just can't cope. I'm making no head-way atall and all people are suggesting is bankrupsy.

If anyone can help I would be most greatfull. I am quite a cheary person normally and I just get on with things but in all honesty for the past few days and even more strongly at the moment I am feeling suicidle (I can't even spell it). Any advice would be helpfull, I want to make things better and would much prefer to avoid bankrupsy, I have lookied into IVAs but I don't trust them.

Please help me.

I can't be of much help, but I do want to tell you that there is always a way out and it doesn't include suicide, so please stop thinking that way.

There will be someone along soon with much more practical help, and one of the first things they'll ask for is a list of all your incomings and outgoings, so perhaps you could be getting that together till they come along.

Things will get better, so keep your chin up :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Welcome shortyj. First of all you need to get things into perspective. This is ONLY a debt problem and no need to be suicidal. Think of all the positive things in your life like you parents, children at school etc. Is it correct that NONE of your creditors will stop the interest even though CCCS have intervened on your behalf?

Before you consider bankruptcy why don't you post your Statement of Affairs (SOA) and the experts on this board will see where you can cut back and how to go forward. I know you'll feel much better after doing this.

Remember this is only debt don't beat yourself up over it. You will get through this.
