Morning everyone, thanks for the start Dumpling, sorry you didn't get much in the way of support from your meeting.

It's a dry and bright morning here so we have decided to take the dogs to the coast, my old dog loves the seaside and not wishing to be morbid don't know how many more chances we will get to take her. We have decided on Holkham in Norfolk, perfect beach for dogs and humans :D
I have packed a small picnic and a big flask of coffee.

Thinking of AOD, hope today goes as well as possible.

Have a good day folks x
  • Morning all,

Without saying too much, I had to wear a mascot costume yesterday in work and entertain some kids - for 90 minutes. I. Was. Roasting. Dressed as a giant bear with a huge head, I was secretly dying while giving out high fives to a bunch of 5 year olds. My job is sales. I should be in the office, on the phone, doing deals, meeting people but yesterday it was asked of me to do this. It would be fun they said.

    Never again.

By the time I was finished it was home time, so I went home for a nice bath while I read my latest edition of mens health. Coronation chicken salad for dinner followed by GBBO.

Been to the gym this morning and I've got football tonight. Should have a busy day in work inbetween then and lets hope i don't need to put on a bloody costume again!

Judi - Hope the move/job situation works out the way you want it.
AoD - Hope all goes well.
  • Come on Speky where are the photo's :):):) don't be shy :)

Good morning chums and a bright and sunny morning it is as well here in the Garden of England.

Won two bottles of vino at the pub quiz last night, so our team stash is climbing ,one more bottle and we have enough for a share out.

DGS Ben messaged me yesterday afternoon to say he had arrived in South Korea and was waiting for his connecting plane to Tokyo, I'll be happier when he is safely back in the UK :)

This morning DD has her MRI scan on her feet to see what they can do for her chronic plantar faciliitis, probably an operation will be the next step.

The boys all enjoyed their day back at school, so normality is resumed once more.

Pottering around day today ,one of the ladies at quiz last night gave me some gorgeous pears from her tree so I will do something with them today.
AoD hope all goes as well as possible today

    Take care all

    JackieO xx
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Started off bright now clouding over......I went out and picked a tray of beans and also a courgette which thinks its a marrow, hopefully will get shut of beans and said marrow at the coffee morning at the little chapel.

Printer being delivered today. Hopefully machine will have been paid for later today and I can order the shed.....council came yesterday, the parks chappie is quite happy that the JK is dead. We did find some root, so put everything in a black bag and gave it to him to dispose of, it goes to the incinerator to be burnt.

I have to pack the embroidery machine up and get it ready for the courier to fetch it on monday, I must remind the buyer to insure it, its in a very large, not light box. Could do with an industrial stapler to staple the box shut, will have to make do with multiple layers of heavy duty tape, and cross my fingers.

    Fritatta for supper tonight.

    Morning,
dreary wet day today, had to give Ly1a a rub with a towel when we got in.DH just went over the white paint in the hall and I have to hurry her through before she shakes herself and covers the wall in splashes of muddy water
AOD- thinking of you today x

I was weary yesterday. When DH and DS2 are at home without anything to do they bicker like mad so I'm glad theyve got something to do today, not sure how much they can do in the rain though. The grandchildren were here too, squabbling away until we took them out to the shopping park to get a new schoolbag for DGD who is back today, needless to say DGS got one too-his current favourite Pawpatrol. He was happy just filling it with his toys when we got back.

.DS bought me a coffee in McD s.I dont know if theyre all like this now but it seemed a bit complicated-all touch screens to order, pay by card, then wait till your number is up on a screen but the machine didnt give him a receipt with the number on like everyone elses. It didnt make the queues any shorter though.Think I'm getting old :rotfl:

Splashed out on a meal deal and got a whole chicken which we had for tea with roasties ,stuffing etc.,then made stock which I'm turning into soup today. Also made 3 big pies for the freezer,2 corned beef hash left over from Monday nights tea,1 apple.Made a loaf too.Being back to proper OS economising, but it can be time consuming :(

Got a great pile of ironing to do today.Tea I think is chicken kebabs with satay sauce/turkey & feta burgers for DS2(made a batch of those too yesterday)

Hope its a good day for you all x

  • Hi all

We have DGS with us again for the morning and we have been playing trains and lego in the sitting room alternating with trips out to the garden to play in the sandpit. This will be a regular thing now as DD has accepted extra work. We will no longer be able to help at the foodbank on a Wednesday as it takes two of us to wrangle DGS. DD was only offered the work on Monday so a bit of quick thinking required.

It is nice today but we need our arms covered in the garden now now so a bit autumnal. I have our bedding on the line as it is the best day for drying as the next few days are forecast to be showery. I also managed to wash the kitchen floor before DH arrived from collecting DGS at about 9.05. We should be able to take him back for 1.15 and than I have a foodbank meeting.

Well have a good afternoon all. Hugs and spoons all round.

Good morning everyone, thanks to dumpling for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one.

I'm just back from the library so reading material has been replenished, just as well as the forecast for the next few days is dire. Must nip out to the garden/greenhouse and see what needs picking after I finish my cuppa before the weather closes in. I'm really enjoying "real" books again after years of kindle reading, so don't mind the taxi fares to get to/from the library. I've cancelled my kindle subscription though may re-start it again if we hit bad weather during the winter but hopefully I'll not need to.

I actually had a good night's sleep last night, despite a stupid dream I had! I had forgotten it was Christmas and hadn't bought all the food in to cook here and take down to DD's for Xmas lunch! I was cooking all sorts of stupid odds and ends from the freezer in a real panic! As if you could forget Christmas when stuff is being advertised already!
I do my level best to forget it, every year! :D Thankfully this year we have my little mate Ronnie booked in to stay with us. :T

Whenever someone says "It'll be fun" when trying to persuade you to do something, you may be assured it will be anything but! :D Much respect to you mate; I'll look after any dog you care to put my way, but I totally draw the line at interacting with children. Btw - come on, you have to post pics! ;)

I had yet another really horrid nightmare last night; these are getting way too frequent, and really upsetting me. No idea what to do about them - answers on a postcard, please....
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Evening everyone,
Speky - come on, post the photos!
AOD - hope all went as well as it could today x
Work is very busy this week and I'm finding things a bit of a struggle. No wine in the house so I'm having a nice cuppa and some biscuits. Not quite the same but at least no hangover tomorrow so every cloud!
Not much in the way of os'ing being done here except I got a free sandwich lunch at work today as it was our monthly team meeting.
    Have a good evening all,
    Coxy
