have decided to grow a beard, or see how i get on anyway, but after 2 weeks its out of control, very bristly to touch (almost like a brillo pad!). i do want to persevere with it - any suggestions?
I was it with shampoo when i shower and wash my hair, and moisturise my whole face in the mornings, ive tried using hair wax to 'flatten' it down a little, with very little success
Any suggestions please?

It really only comes into its own after a 6-weeks but most never make it. After them the hair strand are longer and fuller.
You can get hair oils on the hair street.
A few drops is all you need at a time.
A beard can be shampoo twice a week max and avoid soaping it daily."enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0 -
Use a trimmer on your beard to get all the hair the same length and as above, a little mousturiser or hair oil to keep the skin from flaking.
Perseverence and patience will see you through. I was lucky with my beard in as much as I have very fine hair so even the stubble is quite soft to the touch but I still have problems sometimes with flaky skin so I regularly use a moisturiser.0 -
There is a product called Beard Oil. I believe its suppose to smooth and condition the bread. Try it.0

As theGrinch said. Two weeks is not enough time for the hair to grow to a length that it will feel soft.
Stick with it and give it at least month to six weeks.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0
