State pension for surviving spouse

Hello,
My understanding is that our state pension goes with us when we pass away.
I would like to know if there is a way within the State Pension system, to make provision for my spouse in the eventuality that I am the first to "go".
Is there a possibility to pay more NI to guarantee a part of our SP for a surviving spouse?
Thank your for your inputs on this.

You and your spouse come under the new state pension rules - see above.
It appears from your previous posts that you do not have a "protected payment".
Has your spouse obtained a new state pension forecast?0 -
Thanks for your reply and the link.
Unfortunately we do not fall under the protected payment system. I am aware that the new
State Pension is based solely under our own NI contribution and will go once we are gone.
I was just wondering if it is possible to "insure" our SP for a surviving spouse by paying something extra. Does the law provide for the eventuality?
