Howdy!
I'm gonna start more walking , and would like to get in the 21st century and have something that will track my movements .
I have an iPhone ( wow) . I don't want something overly complicated ,but would like something that's fun to use and won't be discarded after a week
Please advise
Thanks

iPhone health app tracks your steps. I have a Fitbit charge 2 which is excellent; would recommend if you want more than the iPhone basic without buying an expensive iwatch0

Thanks folks.
Will investigate .0 -
Might be something I will never fully understand, but why are so many people (usually women) these days so interested in finding out how many steps they have taken?0

If you do not want to waste money , and your data allowance with online trackers for use on your phone,, buy a used Garmin Navigator. Tough and waterproof, its not always dry and these Garmins are built to stand tough handling.
Mine was only £30 .It works better than any smart phone ap using satellites and will obviously work well in low signal areas where the mobile signal is weak. I think it is probably more accurate too.Mine worked fine in the middle of the Pennine moors this year where my phone signal disappeared.
One on Ebay now at only £9 with 8 hours to go , I will buy myself as a back up Navigator for those remote Scottish hills.
Free maps are available to download for it because the basic one a new comes with is awful. Plenty used ones on Ebay.
Pedometers are inaccurate IMO because they count a movement as a 3 foot step when it could be half that on many occasions.0 -

I don't think it's a new thing, I've had a pedometer in my jeans pocket since October 2017. (Jeans and pedometer changed several times over the decade). Don't care much for fitbits, I'm not one for being linked up.
I started wearing one as part of an interactive walking group and the year I did with them, it was based on how many steps you took, so that's how I started with mine. This year I'm doing the 2017 miles in 2017 challenge, so it's more about mileage than steps, but on the other hand I know that as an average I need to get 13100 steps in every day.0
