One thing about Job No 2 - you haven't told us much about what it is, but if the money coming in is so variable I'm guessing that it is not something where you'd be paying PAYE tax? If not, and the figures you've mentioned are gross, you need to be very careful about saving up for your tax bill, because it looks as if you are in the higher rate tax band, so that is going to be a significant amount of money to pay.
Hi,
The tax is covered as its net figures ... the money is never directly paid to me but to the agency I work for who take off their commission and as a service they have an accountant who advises us so he has informed the tax office that I am self employed and he has organised for the agency to transfer the money for tax and NI into an account before I get it.
The job isn't that interesting its only modelling and promo work ... shopping centre stuff , nightclubs some catalogue stuff etc ....0 -
Hiya,
Have now done the following :
1. Started a spending diary to work out where the money is going.
2. Opened a mni cash isa and arranged to pay £500 per month in so I can start moving towards my goal of having a deposit for a house.
3. Promised myself that I will only buy 2 clothing items before xmas - a full length winter coat (mine is 3 years old and very frayed) and winter court shoes for work as my opened toed sandals are begining to get a bit cold :rotfl: - budget £200 in total (£150 for coat and £50 for shoes)
4. Ordered a slow cooker from Argos (a cheap basic one !!!)

"Please be nice to moneysavers" Your comments are NOT helpful. Look at the announcerment at the top of the page. ie"please remember DFW's for Support & help NOT Judgement." MSE MartinSorry but if you can't manage on between 4 and 8K a month then you are surely some sort of fool.....
Blind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.
:A Level 42- the reason I exist. :A0 -
Totally agree Anniestar, not very helpful at all, she's only asking for help and advice and that's what we're here for, it's not the amount coming in it's what you do with it and from previous posts she's( I'm assuming the OP is a she, correct me if i'm wrong!!!) working damn hard, just needs pointing in the right direction. Good luck I say

Actually I can manage on this ... as I said in my opening post my debt has not increased at all since taking on the second job it is all on APR of 6.9% or less and reducing monthly ...but /i know if /i controlled my spending /i could get rid of this in under 8 months and even with the big hair bills etc #i do have surplus most months
When I started the job I had another CC or about £6000 which has been cleared and an overdraft of about £3000 as well both of these are now cleared:j
BUT I am aware that I am wasting huge amounts on silly stuff and have no idea where most of the money goes
I was posting for HELP to organise myself and make improvements so I can control my spending nad most people have been great . and come up with genuinely helpful suggestions.
Since posting I have started a spending diary.
Yesterday - spent - £7.90 on tab a cafe for my rider at competition venue plus £1.00 on notebook to write spending in and ordered a slow cooker - £39.99
Today I have spent not spent anything
And am not planning on spending anything tomorrow
This may not be great but its a huge improvement for me :T

Well done, you've already made a great start! The spending diary is a real eye opener, I was amazed how much I frittered away on nothing it really makes you think twice! All the advice on here is brilliant but it can be overwhelming, just take it one step at a time and stick with what works for you, eventually you will notice a real difference just don't expect it to happen overnight, when I first came to these boards my head was spinning there was so much to take in!!
As I said before
Good luck
and keep posting

I'd be interested to know what kind of job this is too!!!
I need to earn more money than I am earning now, so I can be debt free in less then 3years.
