I cant help but feel negative about these sites, I mean, whats in it for them other than harvesting numbers and trapping you into subscription services?

I have just tried using it from the computers in work and for some reason it is not working.Perhaps it does not work with all systems as the cbfsms does not work with my Aol at home but I am not sure what system we use in work. I hvae just phoned my home and asked my brother to check it is still working and he just sent me a text and it worked fine, so all I can guess that it works fine with some systems and not with others.

I'd be suspicious of things like free sms offers, what's in it for them ? I wonder if they're recording the mobile numbers to sell/use for upcomong mobile adverts and spam ?

There are a few other free sms offers around like cbfsms and that does not sell/use mobile numbers for adverts or spam so i can`t see any reason why this one would. If the main free text service gets too busy or goes down for some reason then I suspect they hope that you plump for one of the other text offers on the same page, but these you have to pay for.
  • If you download Freecall to your PC you can get free txts to many countrys inc the Uk. Snag is you have to put €10 credit on first but this credit never expires and with it you get cheap rate calls round the world from 1c and free landline calls for 90 days in many countrys. Your mobile number comes up on the other persons phone not a withheld number. Seems to be unlimited.
