I need to get to Exeter from London on Wed Sept 6th.
I tried the Train fare splitter tool but it seems like this is too direct a route.
Cheapest train return I can find is in the region of £75-£80.
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for finding a cheaper fare as I'm unfamiliar with this route and know it doesn't help booking reasonably late.
Want to get there at or before 11am ideally and leave at or by 4pm if possible.
(I am browsing on trainline etc. in the meantime)

Exeter Central to Waterloo is £72.60 on most trains leaving in time for 11a.m. (07.30 gets in at 10.49) but be careful as one or two are significantly more. You can save a further £1.50 by not booking via trainline and choosing any train operating website. Some even give nectar points!0

Remember that Exeter Central is within easy walking distance of Exeter St. Davids, so check fares to both stations. Have a good look at the South West trains website since they sometimes have good offers.0
