I tend to tweet or email the shop concerned with a picture of the food and its sell-by date. They usually sort out a refund without having to make a trip to the store in person.
Last time was a load of mussels that had clearly gone off as none of them opened after cooking. Was no way I was carting rotten shellfish back to Sainsco when they reopened Monday0 -
It cost £1 so just chuck it and move on
every £1 counts to me, so if you just chuck it that's £1 lost and then another £1 needed to spend to replace the milk, so if you can find a way to use it up safely instead that's much better idea isn't it? This is a money saving site after all

You can save milk that's just about to go over by boiling it up and then cooling it again. Might give you another couple of days.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0
