same company different sickness absence policy

i work for a small company of approx 35. the staff are made up of Professional staff and Support staff. Professional staff are entitled to 6 months paid sickness absence and Support staff are entitled to 3 months paid sickness absence. I think this is unfair and discriminating towards support staff and when i challenged this with senior management i was told that they were not prepared to to change it. Can anyone give me suggestions on the type of thing i need to put in a letter to get management to look at this policy again to make it fair for all staff.
thanks

It isn't discrimination, and there is no reason why employers can't offer different terms to different groups of staff. You have already been given an answer. I therefore suggest that you consider it carefully before you start making demands. They could review it and remove sick pay for the support staff. You are very lucky to have paid sick pay at all, especially in such a small company. Don't push your luck unless you are prepared to lose it - for everyone.0
