Hi all,
I received a letter from lowell portfolio 1 today it says i am a customer of theirs....... the address they refer to in the letter i moved out of in 2009, they dont say how much or where the debt is from, i have an idea but havent had any correspondence with them in over 7 years. Is statute barred something I could be covered by? I've read this company is awful to deal with!
Any advice would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
No. not awful at all, as long as you dont ignore them.
You should first respond with the "provit letter" which does what it says on the tin, gets you the proof of liability.

By the sound of it, it is either your debt and statute barred or it is the debt of someone who lived there after you did.
Did they not give any clue what sort of debt it was?0 -
It doesnt give any details at all, thats why im skeptical. Im worried it could be some kind of scam. Ive checked my credit record and theres nothing showing up on there either. Just want to be prepared and know my rights so as not to be taken for a ride.0
