Help needed - problem with employer

So I have been working for my employer for the last 5 years. Recently an employee was suspended and later decided to resign, and was asked to sign an agreement witnessed by a solicitor to say they wouldn't take the employer to court. I was good friends with this employee as we had worked toget her for 4 years. Not long after this I was called into the office with the area manager and the hr manager and asked why I was working in a particular place, I work over two sites as stated in my contract variation. I truly believe they were there to try to suspend me as they didn't know and hadn't bothered to check where I actually worked. Shortly after this I was told that I was to move to a different place of work within the company, I obviously.didn't want to as I've worked with the service usets for 5 years ands was pretty hysterical by this point but I can't refuse as it's stated in my contract that I can be moved to a different place of work at any time. I asked if I could stay the rest of the week to say goodbye and wrap things up properly but the next day they told me I had to go straight away. I was obviously. Upset and a visitor saw this and went and fought my corner (their words) and then I was called into the office again and told I ether went straight away or they would suspend me for gross misconduct for talking about private matters which I haven't although I'm sure they would make something up as that's the kind of company they are! So u felt bullied into going. So in the meantime they have not been committing to whether this is a permanent move or not to anyone (me, service users, visitors) and lots of people are very upset and expressing do. So today I have seen my.job advertised on a recruitment website without having signed a contract variation or been formally told! This has really affected my mental health which I believe they know about as I have sent emails before explaining about absence. This place of work is somewhere where continuity is very important. They are telling people thay I have agreed to a promotion! I'm not really sure what I'm asking of you guys... is it fair? Can I do anything about it?

If it's in your contract, no pay reduction and a commute which is not particularly onerous, then your employer has probably done nothing wrong. Remember that it is your employer's ball and he decides the rules of the game, so if he wants you as a goalkeeper not a striker, a keeper you will be.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

If your contract allows them to dictate where you work, there is little you can do. Perhaps they feel you had become too close to the service users? It's natural for that to happen but can also blur the professional relationship.
As frustrating as it is you really shouldn't have told the visitor. You say you didn't but why else would they go and fight your corner?
Is your friend's dismissal relevant, do they feel that you were complicit in something or perhaps that you know too much of the situation? That can be a valid reason for a move from the business point of view.0 -
They formally told you. Twice, from what you said.thevicster wrote: »So I have been working for my employer for the last 5 years. How would a visitor that you didn't tell know what to fight your corner over? You told this person. That is the only explanation. And on that basis you are lucky that they didn't put you on a disciplinary. If they were looking for a reason, as you suggest, then you handed it to them on a platter, and they didn't take it. You know that your contract enables them to relocate them, according to the needs of the business. For whatever reason, their need was for you to relocate. Becoming hysterical about it isn't going to solve your problems. I see no evidence that anyone has bullied you. You simply don't like what they told you. That's life. You can't always have what you want. It seems that you are working yourself up over this, for no good cause. Your mental health will improve if you accept that this is the job and you must do as you are told. And if you can't do that, then I am afraid that you need to look for another job.0 -
Becoming hysterical because you were asked to work at a different location???"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
