Wedding photographer not produced wedding albums

Hi all,
My wife and I got married Aug 2016 and hired a wedding photographer. We paid him 75% upfront with the other 25% to be paid on collection of the photo albums. From our invoice we had been promised one Italian leather photo album, 2 parent photo albums, one signed picture frame, an internet password to view pics online plus photography on the day.
On the day he was excellent. Within 3 weeks of the day, he provided an internet password to view the excellent pics. However, one year and two weeks on we have had nothing else. We were told in October 2016 that we was starting to put the albums together. Since then I have sent emails asking for updates yet he keeps making excuses such as the supplier is having issues etc.
My question is where do I stand legally and what should my next steps be?
Thank you all in advance.

Would really appreciate any help or advice on this0

With due respect, you've waited a year (and two weeks) yet can barely wait 30 minutes on here.
How did you pay. What was the amount paid. Do you know where he lives and is he still in business?0 -
Apologies, new to the site, didn't want the thread to get 'lost' as people post new threads all the time here it seems. We paid on credit card and have paid approx 825 so far. Due to pay another 250 on receiving the albums. Yes to your last two questions.0

I would suggest that you pick up the phone and talk to him, or if he has a business address I would visit him - assuming that you can keep your cool - and try and have a reasonable conversation with him. Email is fine for documenting what has been said, but it is also very faceless. If he is a decent person, then dealing with you in person is far more likely to result in positive action.0

I appreciate your feedback. I have tried this but each time makes an excuse such as I'm busy etc. He is freelance so works from his house.0

Can I sue?0
-
I would issue him with a formal letter advising that if the albums arent supplied within say 28 days you will be seeking legal advice, I would also say that you have been left with little option but to sue them for breach of contract etc. You could also ask them to reimburse you part of the cost.0

I would say thou if you have no formal written contract you may well be up against it.0
