Best way to handle multiple application

I've applied for lots of jobs recently. Currently waiting to hear outcome of 12 submissions.
My issue is some of the jobs I really do want, where as some would be a temporary measure until something better comes up.
I've an interview next week for a role that pays less per annum than my current job, but would equal more take home per month as its more hours. Its not a role I'm that I'm keen on long term, however if it brings home more money than current for a few months I'd be inclined to take it if offered.
I guess I'm asking would you feel bad accepting a job knowing its just till a better one comes up, or would you do it to improve your income? Also wonder - what to do if offered this one then offered something else after I've given my notice? Not sure any work place would extend notice period just to help someone out?!

People do it all the time, the company wont appreciate it. If you go out of your way to tell them you want to be with them long-term etc then maybe thats another thing so try to stay away from that and your conscience will be clear.

No they wont extend your notice unless the manager is your good friend who is happy for you getting a new job, you will just have some holiday before the next job.

Thanks. Yeah I don't want to deceive anyone but the pay difference between the lowest and highest is about 12k. Some are close to home, others miles off. Some I can see me staying for the long haul, some temporary. I'm seeing it that if I do leave somewhere after a short time it will be easier for them to recruit a replacement than me find a job.

Do long haul jobs exist anymore? The employment market follows economic trends and other variables so just as you feel comfy in your new role the rug could get nicked!
If you left present job for another then left the new role after 3-6 months the next employer may well ask why or just wonder why. Loyalty!
However, decision day is the day you are offered the new job so until then just go with the flow.
