Cheaper contact lenses?

We're currently paying approx £35 a month to Specsavers for my husband's contact lenses. I believe this package also gives him free eye tests and money off glasses when he needs them. However, he doesn't use lenses everyday so we quickly have a stockpile building up. Specsavers have been really good a suspending his contact lens delivery (and monthly payment) for a couple of months here and there but I wonder if anyone has found other places to buy contacts cheaper? He won't need new glasses or another eye test for 18 months or so and I'm keen to try and cut some costs if possible.

Don't Specsavers do an occasional use scheme? I am with Boots and they supply me with one box of lenses every 3 months. I still get the free eye tests and money off glasses benefits with it.0

He could buy them from vision direct (and get cashback if you go through topcashback). You just tick a box to confirm you have an up to date prescription.0

You can buy lenses as you need them from Asda. They work out very cheap for Specsavers' standard lenses mine are £9 per box0

Thank you for all the replies - there's some really good ideas there for us to shop about for.

Hi
I have been informed that my contact lenses will be getting discontinued. I currently pay £18 a month for focus dailies from Tesco this covers all my aftercare, check ups and money off glasses. I was told the next price up for contact lenses are £25 I think this is a really big jump.
I started looking online and came across daysoft lenses has anyone used them or know anything about them they are offering 32 lenses for £5.99, so it's quite a saving. I know I will have to pay for contact lens check up but this would still save me money.
Any advice would be great
Thanks:):):)Que Sera, Sera0 -
Daysoft believe that their lenses fit all eyes and replace all other lenses. This alone has been enough to put me off them.0

Thanks for reply. I am slightly wary of them but thought I could order a set and see how I go or bulk order my original ones just before they stop producing them;)Que Sera, Sera0

I get mine from feelgood contact lenses - they're much cheaper and very reliable. Order when you need - and you can get cashback through quidco too0

Oh and to the new poster (best to start a new post if you want it to get picked up) - I tried Daysoft and I found them to be rubbish. They deliver on time etc, but the lenses tear very easily and are not as comfortable as the lenses I usually use.0
