Your Job and Salary (North West)

This is something that cropped up recently with friends and I'm just curious on people's job salary and perks, and what is average for propels age. For arguments sake, I'd be interested on hearing from those not in London, as I know salaries are much more in London to reflect living costs etc.So, would anyone be willing to share job info (basic details not company etc, but interested if it's private or public sector). Do you feel your salary is good compared to others?

Me:
Female
36
Public Sector Worker
£37,150
Work from home mainly (north west) 37 hrs week + 31.5 days leave + BHs
Additional income self-employed around £3-4k year

I don't consider my salary too bad, it's public sector though so been on a pay freeze for what seems like years, nice working from home so I have very little expenses in terms of travelling as any travel costs are reimbursed.

Friend A:
Female
36
Private Sector Worker Railway
£42,500
35 hours a week based in North West 30 days leave + BHs
Additional overtime available

Friend A seems to have a great job, travels around 40 miles a day from home (35 mins each way), lots of opportunities for progression and always doing 'nice' things as a company.

Friend B:
Female
38
NHS
£26500 (ish)
Around 37 but varies, frequently works excess, 28 days leave based in busy north west hospital

Friend B, undervalued, morale low, enjoys job but always doing extra hours as bank staff.

    ???????

Length of service Annual leave and general public holidays

    On appointment
    27 days + 8 days

    After five years’ service
    29 days + 8 days

    After ten years’ service
    33 days + 8 days

She will also have deferred pay by virtue of a pension.
    Don’t be a can’t, be a can.

Sorry I meant 27, typo! She hasn't been there over 5 years as she was working there before but not directly employee with NHS, and yes public holidays extra. We all have pensions we pay into, but I think the public sector pensions are suppose to be good, don't ask me though I've no idea when it comes to pensions, think mine is NUVO or something.
