I have read that you can make an offer to pay a creditor on the basis they remove the account from your credit report within a certain amount of time of you paying off the debt.
Ultimately the page I've read says this is a request and they certainly aren't obliged to, but it does work in some circumstances.
This sounds too good to be true. Is it?

And if it saounds too good to be true ........make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

You can make the offer but it would be rare for a creditor to agree, given that the information is likely to be accurate. But you can always ask. Bear in mind though that if you are, effectively, asking a creditor to say your account was up-to-date and it wasn't.. well they won't go for that at all.0

Thanks. I thought as much. I'd have thought they wouldn't be allowed to do that anyway, but I thought I'd ask.0

In certain circumstances you can do this.
The one senario that springs to mind is if you win a payday loan complaint.
