  • If you specified the final date then I would have thought they would have to sack you (with notice) if they wanted it to be earlier. (Unless resigning were gross misconduct :)

    I guess you are not a member of a Union.

    I think it depends on what OP means by "minimum" notice. That implies to me that you can give more than one months notice. So the date that should count is the date the OP specifies as their last day.


    In the NHS we were paid an annual salary divided by 12 months divided by the number of days in each month. (So if you left in a February you were slightly better off.)

    In the NHS continuous service allows for a short break between jobs. I expect it's the same everywhere else.
