Not returning to previous job after maternity?

Hi!
Can anyone help me out.
My maternity finishes this Sunday and I'm due to go back to my part time zero hour contract job beginning of September.
About a month ago they asked me to write and sign to say I'm coming back to work and when, so I did.
Since then I changed my mind due to them struggling to pay my SMP (nearly 2 weeks behind hence me not having to go back until September) and from constantly asking for my payslips and p60 and not having any luck.
So I've managed to get a new job which I were going to do along side my zero hour job also but now that I have decided I don't want to go back there can I give a weeks notice even though I wrote that I were returning in September? Or will I need to go back and work a week?
Also, when I start my new job will I be emergency taxed? Do I need to fill in a p46? I don't earn enough to be taxed currently but I'm not sure how this works?
Also who can I contact to get my p60 as I have given them enough time and still nothing!
Thanks alot:o

since you can turn down any offers of work does it make any difference.
see how the new job goes first just in case that does not work out you can(try) pick up more hours in the old job.0
