Change in Tax Code

Hi.


At the moment my wife works 25 hours in one job and then 12 in another (per week) she uses most of her tax code on main job and the little bit remaining on the smaller role.


However at the end of this week she is finishing at the main job and going full time in the other. Will the tax office automatically move her tax code over when she receives her P45 or is this something she will need to contact them about and get them to arrange?

Following instruction from Employers' day to day payroll instructions at....

"Existing employee gives you a form P45
If an existing employee gives you a form P45 from a second job they have
just left you should tell them to send the P45 Part 3 to:
HM Revenue & Customs
Regional Post Room
St Mungo’s Rd
CUMBERNAULD
G67 1YZ
We will review the tax code and issue an amended one if appropriate."
