I need a fitness device that after a walk/run shows a map of the route you did in the app or ideally on something like Google Maps.
Ideally something cheap like a Xiaomi, been a while since I have looked at this type of product but sure it exists widely now in the market as i do recall seeing a runner posting his route online many years ago.
(or even a phone app might do it?)
Thoughts on the best solution for a start/stop mapping product? Thankyou

I use a Garmin Vivoactive HR. It has the functionality you want and syncs with Strava.
However, it's definitely not a budget option! Some of the garmin GPS watches are cheaper, but there's not much below the £100 mark.0 -
A phone App would be better, because you'll need to carry that anyway ; so you can call a taxi when you want to bail out . . . or is that just me ?0

Any good "where have I walked apps" for Android anyone can recommend?0

Anything with GPS would do what you want.
Failing that something like strava on your phone would do it too.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
I use "map my run" which is free and available for iOS and android. Seems to work fine.0

Can you keep your route private (ie. Not available on the web for people to see where I live/start)?0

Torn because dunno how good it will be, You get what you pay for an all that0 -
Just use something like Strava (free version) on your smartphone. You can put the phone to sleep and the tracking still woks so unless you are going out for many hours battery life is not an issue.0
