What about any possible contamination of the land...do you know if anything nasty could be lurking or been dumped in previous years.
I've got a wide range of fruit trees planted at my work place dating back to mid 1800"s (Apples..Pears and Various Cherry tree"s along with literally miles of blackberry bushes) yet been told not to eat them due to nasty stuff buried pre incinating days.
Such a shame as Apple trees look like they will snap under the sheer volume...so tempted but not worth it.
Just a thought....:(0 -
Thanks again.
My line manager's been off sick the latter half of this week, so I spoke to his manager.
She laughed. And laughed. And laughed. And said she couldn't care less who picks the blackberries but to make sure I only picked high up ones as some people walk their dogs through the car park :rotfl:.
So I figure I'll keep on picking.
I don't know how much clout that manager would have if someone higher up in the organisation decided to take umbrage, but her word is good enough for me, anyway.0 -

Believe me nobody higher up would care one little bit. Nobody lower down should either, if they have any sense.0 -
I bet your "work mate" is a great interesting person to be around.0

Or.....take your colleague jam or pie made from the berries. After he has enjoyed eating it, tell him he has just eaten stolen goods!0

Speaking from personal experience, I can give you a polite warning.
I got sacked from a previous position for this very thing!
I'd turn up to work 8:55 every morning, 5 minutes early. Through the summer months I'd spent 8-9 hours picking their blackberries. Sometimes not clocking out until 18:00. I never wanted overtime for it but the cheeky sods sacked me on the spot! I'd only been there 12 months so didn't have a leg to stand on. They yelled something about not "touching their blackberries" and to "do some F***ing work!!!" I was gobsmacked :eek:0 -

Until the fourth line or so, I was :eek::eek:
but then the penny dropped :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
