Just curious on people's thoughts on this site?
Someone recommended it to me and so I had a peek and at first glance thought it looked fab as you could potentially work more comps with fewer clicks and could filter to remove all FB and Twitter comps...however I then realised that there were only maybe 50 comps left to enter which were ending the next day whereas on here it feels like there are waaaaay more than that.
Does it only seem like there are so many more because all the FB and Twitter comps are in the list too so you have to travel through them?
Or is there just an awful lot more comps posted here?
I don't want anyone getting argumentative or defensive for either site, it's honestly just personal interest.
I'm trying to get back into comping but with only about half an hour per day to play I'm trying to make best use of my time!
Thanks all

I've always used here. I've moved from different sites over the past 5/6 years and still always come back to this one.
I find it easy to see the (FB/Twitter) in the title and can click the x to not enter.
There are an AWFUL lot of comps here - pretty sure you get up to 1000+ at the end of the month, which is a lot more than other sites (some which only have 300/400)
It's always personal preference as to which one you use. I just like the community on here and people often want to help posting answers, spotting dupes and most comps posted here are 'real' ones, which don't leave you with a lot of spam in your inbox.December Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -
Although, I haven't been comping for years & years, I have tried Loquax & CD and I always come back to MSE. Yes, the other sites are more user friendly in some respects, but there just seem to be a lot more comps posted on the MSE site than Loquax or CD. And, like Nelie said - MSE just feels more like a community0

I just stick to this site. Its easy to follow and everyone is nice here0

Quantity doesn't necessarily mean quality but in the last 48 hours and the last week the approximate number of new competitions added was
C D 187 for 48 hours and 735 for the week
MSE 321 for 48 hours and 1316 for the week
C D allows a wide range of sorting including by prize type, value, and entry method and they also allow winners details to be posted0 -
MSE members can upload competitions directly to the site whereas CD owners, Mark and Nicola, are the only people who verify and add comps. Members can add comps that they see to a list or fill in all the details ready to be posted once verified. The problem that I found was comps were missed being listed as it isn't a 24/7 site like MSE. Plus we have a lot more members adding comps, helping with answers and spotting dupes. CD is much more user friendly in terms of layout and filtering comps.0

Thanks all!
Esp MJM...I don't know if I overlooked them in an obvious place but those stats were helpful.
I'll stick to here then. To be fair, I knew deep down that this would be the answer but because I liked the setup over there better I was trying to kid myself hahaDream of being mortgage free....

The number of competitions on that site has dropped considerably recently, I suspect a major contributor might have had a strop lol.
Also for sorting purposes you are reliant upon them being put in the right category in the first place, when I went over there for a while I always blocked the 'effort' ones thinking it meant making a video, baking a cake or some such and it was only when I ran out and unblocked everything that I realised some were classed as 'effort' because it involved filling in a form...!?0 -

I used to add a lot of comps to CD but I've been struggling with my health so I haven't been able to add any recently.x

I mostly use MSE, but I often check CD before I go to bed each night to check what is about to close (and check the enter earlies) and they do have a few different comps to here (if I spot any in good time I add them here, but if it's, for example, 20 minutes to closing, then I don't bother). I also press entered on CD for any FB comps I've entered through MSE, because then you get a notification on CD when the winners name has been added.
To be fair to CD, now is a bad time to be judging the site and checking their stats (number of comps added/closing etc.) against MSE, because the 2 owners who oversee everything are actually getting married this month, so they haven't been around much!I'm sure it'll pick up afterwards though! When it's busy, they have hundreds per day, just like here.
I prefer MSE for chatting, answers (these work well and do get added to CD, but just not consistently enough) and the mag dailies etc. but CD has better organisation for some things (obviously because it's designed for comps, whereas on MSE we have to work with the forum format), especially the advents. Last year they had a lot more advents than any other comping site and that's when their user friendly set up really helps the most too.0
