Defaults on Credit file

I am looking at getting a mortgage and have signed up to Noddle to check my report and see what's happening etc -
My main question is, is when do defaults get deleted from my file? I have read 6 years but what date do they go by?! I will break down everything I can below.
Now I have 3 defaults which are broken down as follows:
HSBC - £88 (I went 26p overdrawn when I was 18 and they added fees, I was stupid, refused to pay and never touched the account again) Account end date (31/01/2015) Date of default (24/01/2012) - Current status "Satisfied".
Argos Card services - £553 (Young and stupid, started a payment plan, cannot remember whether I finished it or not, I think I did). Account end date (31/01/2013) Date of default (12/10/2011) - current status "Satisfied".
Lowell - £139 (BT account, I opened a broadband account with them, closed it after 2 weeks as they messed me about with install dates) tried to tell me I had to pay a termination clause, fees were added, I refused to pay). Account end date (Still open) Date of default (31/08/2012) - current status "Open" It seems in the last 12 months Lowell have bought this from BT. This was never on my file before Lowell bought it and I have had no contact from them.
As you can see I am really hoping the date of removal will be 6 years from the date of default as it would mean that in the next 12 months, all 3 should be removed. I am however tempted to sort this one out as it looks to be the longest to be removed, any advice will be received with great appreciation.

They do indeed leave your file 6 years from the date of default being registered.
With BT, you can always appeal to them. Lowell will certainly not remove the default. However, if you didn't follow the official method to utilise your cooling off period and didn't terminate the contract properly, the default will be deemed valid and you'll be at the mercy of their goodwill.

So am I right in thinking it's 6 years from the "Date of Default"?
I will speak with BT and find out exactly what the issue is, I tried with HSBC a few years ago but they would hardly listen to me.0 -

The worst BT can tell you is no, so it's always worth talking to them.

Do I have to apply for them to be removed or is it automatic?0

Yes, you'd need to raise an official query/complaint with them, stating the reasons why you believe the default should be removed. Otherwise the only thing you have to go on is goodwill. It wont be removed under any other circumstance but them agreeing to do so as a result of said complaint/appeal.
