Nintendo wii-buy from USA?

This may seem a stupid question, but if I buy a Wii from the USA, will there be an issue with compatability for using it in the UK?

Also remember that importing an item of that price will be taxable upon entry to the UK.
    Gone ... or have I?

Im planning on buying one from the States when im there next week.

    Things to look out for:

The TV system is NTSC, not PAL. So if your TV supports NTSC you will be ok, if not you may not get a picture when you connect it up.

It doesn't have support for Scart leads, as they don't use them in the states. This means you can't use RGB scart to get round the NTSC/PAL issue. Your choices are composite, Svideo or Component (Component supports progressive scan)

The Virtual console connects to the USA, and requires an address to use a credit card, so you can't use your credit card to buy anything.

the Wii isn't region free. It will only play Games which are manufactured with the USA region code. This means you can't pick something up on a whim

The votage difference. You would need a step down converter to convert the 230v UK supply to a USA friendly 110V
